RACGP ACRRM

This module is based on footage recorded from the Round Table discussion and focuses on the identification of patients with severe asthma that may not be optimally managed for various reasons and possible treatment options that can reduce symptoms, reduce oral corticosteroid burden, reduce the risk of exacerbations, and improve overall quality of life.

Learning outcomes


In addition to the overall learning outcomes of this CPD Accredited Activity, by the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Define ‘severe asthma’ and ‘asthma control’, and outline the difference between patients’ and physicians’ understanding of these concepts
  • Identify patients with severe asthma who may benefit from treatment review or referral
  • Optimise the treatment of severe asthma in a primary care setting, including referral when indicated
  • Discuss the role of biologic treatment options in the management of severe asthma
