Migraine is a common underdiagnosed condition that is a significant cause of disability in Australia and worldwide. It affects women more than men at a ratio of around 3:1, with women also reporting a longer attack duration, increased risk of headache recurrence, greater disability, and a longer period of time required to recover.

Learning outcomes


By the end of this vodcast, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the diagnostic features of migraine.
  2. Review current and future migraine treatment strategies in a general practice setting.
  3. Facilitate timely referral of patients with difficult-to-treat migraine via appropriate referral pathways.
