This activity is based on footage from a 2022 event with Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor Natasha Michael, where she focused on breakthrough cancer pain as a separate entity from cancer pain.
By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Describe the heterogeneous nature of breakthrough cancer pain intensity and its clinical characteristics
- Describe the differences between the pharmacokinetic profiles of rapid-onset and short-acting opioids
- Assess and choose an appropriate treatment based on an individual's pain profile
This activity has been designed to take 1 hour to complete and is suitable for 1 Category 1 Credit in the RACP's MyCPD programme.
Other healthcare professionals can still enrol and complete this course. You will receive a certificate upon completion.
If you do not already have an account with Arterial Education, you will be required to create one. This verifies that you are a healthcare professional and allows you to log your learning activities.
